Happy Valentine's Week!

I picked up some bright colored sea sediment imperial jasper a few months back. Most of my designs feature more muted colors of teal, green and cream. When they first arrived I thought, "oh man, what was I thinking?" With bright red and orange and lime green with yellow, what on earth was I planning to do with these when I ordered them? Silly me...LOL! I put them aside in a box and moved on. A month passed when I saw an image that gave me a great idea! I had some hammered rings stuffed in a drawer and some slightly larger copper rings in the back of another drawer that fit nicely over the smaller rings, and perfectly slid into these jaspers beads. The small, bright splash of color worked perfectly to enhance the copper rings without overpowering them. Who would have thought they were a great purchase after all!
With Valentine's day coming up and music events soon to be in full swing, I got excited to put together these fun earrings for a splash of color for a night out. With budgets in mind, as everyone is feeling the pinch at the market these days, I priced it as a special for the holiday week. My belief has always been that good design doesn't have to cost a fortune. We have applied this to all of our home remodels and to the hundreds of DIY projects over the years. A limited budget does not have to interfere with good design, and in fact, can allow more creativity to solve the problem. In the near future, I plan to feature some of these DIY hacks we've applied over the years to create cool design. With a little bit of sweat and labor and love, you can create some pretty amazing things on a tight budget. But for now, here are these fun earrings I put together with a splash of color featuring 6 different bright sea sediment imperial jaspers. So go play with some color, don't be afraid to get a little bold and try working with something new....you never know what you might create!
